Did you know that Fulham is more than only a football club? This less touristy area of London has a lot to offer, from cosy restaurants to the most beautiful walking path next to the Thames. Fulham is a suburban district located in the west of London. Despite being a small area, it has a rich history and many hidden gems. Let’s explore some of Fulham, London together.

1. Get Your Coffee Fix at Jerdan Place

Two minutes away from Fulham Broadway, Fulham’s tube station, you find Jerdan Place. This small cobble-stone street is home to some cute coffee and brunch places. Grab a coffee with the locals at Love Walk Caffe or Shot Espresso.

2. Wander around Fulham Palace

Fulham Palace is a stunning historic building that has been the residence of the Bishops of London since the 11th century. The palace is open to the public and features beautiful gardens, a museum, and a café. It is a hidden gem that many people who visit London are not aware of. It is well worth a visit. Fulham Palace is located in Bishop’s Park, one of my favourite parks in London. It has a great rose garden and a walking path next to the Thames. This hidden gem is a must-visit when in the neighbourhood.

3. Discover Fulham’s Sporting Heritage

Fulham is home to two major sports teams – Fulham FC, which plays in the English Football League Championship, and Harlequins Rugby Club, one of the most successful rugby union teams in England. Fulham FC was founded in 1879 and has a rich history, including a memorable appearance in the UEFA Europa League final in 2010. The club’s home ground is Craven Cottage, which has been its home since 1896. You can find the Fulham Fan shop in the stadion. This is open every day.

4. Shop Secondhand Items of the Rich and Famous

This area is one of the richest of London and thus, in the world. Therefore it is a great place to go shopping for second hand items. Internationals who move in and out the area leave stylish and branded furniture pieces behind in Fulham. Discover Lillie Road or wander into one of the many charity shops.

5. Enjoy Fulham’s Food Scene

Fulham, like most areas in London, has a vibrant food scene, with a wide range of restaurants and cafes serving everything from traditional British cuisine to international dishes. There are several Michelin-starred restaurants in the area, as well as many independent cafes and eateries. Some of the most popular dining destinations in Fulham include Pappa Ciccia, Kona Kai, and Fenn. For the best brunch you go to Hally’s.

Fulham may be a small district in London, but it has a lot to offer. From its sporting heritage to its historic buildings, vibrant food scene, there is something for everyone in Fulham. It is the perfect place to take a breather during a busy city trip in London. Spend a day like a real Londoner in this rich and sporty neighbourhood.
