Putney, a bustling and vibrant area of southwest London, is home to a wide array of coffee bars, each with their own unique character and charm. It has also been my home for the past 3 years. I have frequented many of its coffee bars. Discover my favourites here!

1. The Most Popular – Artisan Coffee

One of the most popular coffee bars in the area is Artisan Coffee. Located on Upper Richmond Road, Artisan Coffee is known for its high-quality coffee and relaxed atmosphere. The space is bright and airy, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. You’ll find a range of seating options, from cozy armchairs to small tables, making it a great spot for catching up with friends or getting some work done.

2. The Best Brunch + Coffee – Tried & True

If you’re in the mood for something more for brunch, check out Tried & True. This cozy coffee bar on Upper Richmond Road serves up a range of coffee drinks, brunch options and delicious lunches. The space is a bit bigger than the other bars and has outdoor seating as well.

3. The Most Cosy – Blåbär

For a more cosy coffee experience in Putney, look no further than Blåbär. This is a Nordic coffee and brunch bar next to Putney’s Exchange. This super cosy cafe serves up a range of baked goods, sandwiches, and, of course, coffee. They have some Scandinavian specialties on offer. Blåbär also sells Scandinavian gadgets and must-haves. The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming perfect for catching up with friends or cosying up with a good book.

4. The Most Relaxed – Another Brother

If you’re after a more laid-back vibe, check out Another Brother. Tucked away next to Wandsworth Park, this cozy coffee bar is a great spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Putney High Street. The coffee here is excellent. There’s also a small outdoor seating area if you want to soak up some sun while you sip your coffee or have their all day brunch.

5. The Place to Be – Monies

If you’re in the mood for something a little more upscale, head to Monies. This chic coffee bar is located on Upper Richmond Road as well. The coffee here is excellent, with a range of single-origin beans on offer. They also serve a range of light bites and pastries, making it a great spot for a leisurely brunch or afternoon coffee break. Monies has a great terrace that has lots of sun in Spring, Summer and Autumn. This coffee bar is frequented by Putney’s famous Londoners. You never know who you may bump into at Monies.

6. The Cheapest – Rosy Lea Cafe

Upper Richmond Road seems to be a popular place for coffee bars. If you are looking for a budget-friendly coffee and brunch, Rosy Lea Cafe is your place to go. With traditional and gigantic brunch and lunch platters and cheap but good coffee, this bar close to East Putney tube station is frequented by many locals.

7. The Newest & Most Ethical- Sendero

Another great option for coffee lovers is Sendero. This new cafe is located on Putney High Street next to the train station. Here they offer a range of delicious coffee drinks and smoothies. The coffee served here, is from fair trade beans from Sendero’s own farms. The atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming, with a mix of tables and bar seating. Definitely go to the back of the coffee bar to discover the beautiful painting. Especially on a grey day in London, this is your place to be.
