2016 is almost over. After my top year 2015, 2016 was a totally different year with ups and downs and a quest for myself.

Early in 2016 I saw the light, the solution for all my problems, I became vegan. Throughout the entire year I have desired milk chocolate and I missed a lot of things but I never felt as great and my body never felt as good and as healthy as it did in 2016. So I’m ready to dive deeper into the vegan experience in 2017 and broaden my view more, find more delicious ingredients and above all cook and experiment more!

At the end of January I had to say goodbye to Valencia, the city where I lost my heart. I didn’t want to leave and I still want to go back, some day, the sooner the better. I’m still experiencing the post-Erasmus syndrome and I’m sure it will keep following me into 2017 as well. With the end of my Erasmus in January, also my blog took a dive downwards. Wandering Wilma didn’t wander so often anymore and as she did she didn’t feel the need to write about it. But I want to pick up my blog in 2017, I want to give my blog a new life, a second birth.

I’m starting to say goodbye to 2016, a year in which I found and lost myself a couple of times, I didn’t like the subject I was studying anymore, I didn’t like Leuven anymore, I didn’t like my life anymore. I wanted to do something instead of sitting behind my desk the entire day. I wanted to do something with the new knowledge I gained by becoming vegan, something with which I get a step closer to helping people. I changed study subjects, I found new friends, I found a new project to work on and I watched some more environmental documentaries. Now I’m ready for a new top year like 2015. 2017 I’m ready for you!

Next year will be a busy one as will be finishing my master’s degree and my dissertation. In addition I’m working on an Academics for Development project and I have more big plans in 2017, so here we go:

  • Visit London with my best friend
  • Start an internship at Studio Globo
  • Work on a social project named Studio Zambia
  • Go to Zambia and have a social impact
  • Get my master’s degree in Corporate Communication
  • Start a new master’s degree in Conflict and Development Studies
  • Spread some love

2017 will be a super busy year, but that’s how I like it and this time I will keep you updated!

See ya in 2017!

Lots of kisses

L. as Wilma
